26 on 25

Oh my God! How did we even get here?! If a year back somebody would have told me that my life would be where it is today, I would have freaked out! It's a good thing that we can't see the future. Noting down the 26 things I learnt in 25 years of my journey.

1. Childhood is more important than we give it credit for. A lot of the issues that we face as adults actually stem from the very little instances of our childhood that were just too insignificant, back at that time

2. Every now and then we should take out some time to heal any wounds that our inner child carries. Any childhood trauma, big or small, which looks petty at the time might come back to haunt, years later. We immerse ourselves in work or distract our minds but it is only a temporary escape. Tending to a scar, healing is sacrosanct

3. Not everything your parents or elders or mentors or idols or friends tell you is true.  Because you have your own reality and that would not be identical with anybody else's, it is not meant to be either

4. Striking the right balance in life is critical - say between discipline and letting loose, selflessness and selfishness, mind and heart

5. Codependency is toxic for any relationship. A thriving relationship has two independent individuals who are complete on their own (and do not need each other to feel 'whole') yet they put in the effort to meet midway, to make an equal match

6. Age is just a number - to start a hobby, switch a career, learn something new, be a better person

7. If you really got a will, you will find the way

8. Success = Hardwork + Luck (The proportion totally depends). Hard work is in our power. Luck is in the divinity's. We just got to do what is in our power. Then if it is meant to be, it will be. If it isn't, at least we won't be sad knowing we didn't try

9. You are not here to copy ongoing patterns - be it ancestral patterns or workspace patterns. You are here to break them and create some new ones - make your own original

10. Change is challenging. It's a storm not everyone can face. Those who can, get to level up

11. Cherish the people and things who stood by you when you didn't stand by yourself

12. But then, learn to be your own inspiration because one day you would be the best company you have

13. Justice served is not always a visible capital punishment or putting a person behind the bars. Justice is also the mental trauma and the guilt that keeps a person awake at night

14. You can escape the law-keepers of the planet but not Karma. The world is small and what goes around comes around

15. Revenge in love is a bad idea. It springs back to hurt yourself. Hence forgiveness is preferable

16. Religion divides, spirituality unites

17. Gratefulness is the key to abundance

18. Kindness and empathy are worth more than our moral science books give credit to

19.Your competition is only with yourself

20. Don't take yourself too seriously. The world is a stage and we are all actors, playing our parts. Having fun is important! So when you go back you can say - What a ride!

21. Money is a motivator. Money is essential. But money won't keep you alive, your passion will!

22. When you start elevating from where you used to be, pull another person up - Each one teach one, each one feed one, each one feel one

23. No room required in your life for people who belittle your dreams and ambitions - Choose the right tribe, 'cause the right tribe gives the right vibe

24. The price you pay for honesty and truth is huge, but the rewards are worth it

25. Keep your eyes on the stars and feet on the ground

26. Live every moment like it's your last because change is the only constant
